The Spring Lounge Tour Dates
Greg will be playing a series of shows across New Zealand in November, including a very special televised show, details below. Mailing list members will get an opportunity to be first in line for tickets, so if you haven’t joined Greg’s mailing , now is the time!
The November includes South Island shows in Christchurch, Nelson and Picton, while North Island fans can savour shows in Wellington, Auckland, Huapai and Waiuku. Tickets are on general sale from Tuesday October 6 via Ticketmaster.co.nz (all North Island dates except Wellington) and Ticketek.co.nz (South Island dates plus Wellington). Says Greg: “There’s nothing better than hitting the long roads of Aotearoa for a rejuvenating Spring tour, catching up with everyone plus meeting new friends.”We’re taking the Spring Lounge tour to eclectic venues in main centres and in the outskirts – performing at a winery, boathouse, jazz club, historic hotel, a TV show, even uncle Pat’s back shed!”
In support, Auckland’s Lisa Crawley will perform songs from her acclaimed new album All In My Head, before joining Greg and band to play singles, album tracks and take a few requests from right across his 10-album career.
“Lisa’s new album is really great and I’m looking forward to hearing her open the shows. She’s a much better piano player than me and looks better in a dress. We recently recorded a duet together for a very special cause to be released next month and I’m pleased she’s on board for the tour too.”
The catalyst for this tour has been Juice’s invitation to Greg to play a televised concert – one of three TV specials announced today for their Juice Bar Legends series celebrating some of New Zealand’s favourite artists.
“I feel honoured to be called a legend, or as the dictionary says “popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated” – seems fair to me.”
Juice TV’s Dan Wrightson says Greg was an obvious choice for the Juice Legends show, after 20 years of delivering songs with great stories and melodies.“Greg’s voice, music and songs are part of the DNA of New Zealand music and of course, Juice TV & J2. A chance to capture the great man in action is one not to be missed – first live in an intimate setting at Juice Bar then later reliving the magic on TV.”

Los Angeles Belongs To You.
In the L.A. Times recently , journalist Steve Lopez wrote a piece about how Los Angeles didn’t really have a theme song, a song that was truly associated with the city and called for Los Angeles based songwriters to submit songs for their home town. Greg responded with this song, and was featured in the LA times follow up article today [Saturday 2nd March].
